I'd say the jury is still out around here as to the "slugs through a full choke" issue. Look at the manufacturewr's instructions. Does it say anything there? You can e-mail Mossy through their website.
You can shoot slugs through full choke just fine.
When get the gun, if you are going to use it for slugs, pick up a red dot scope and mount, and you will have yourself a nice little package for deer. If you dont scope it, the vent rib will tend to make the gun shoot a little high. With a little practice, that wouldnt be a problem, either. I bought two of these for my sons (8 yrs and 9yrs old), and they are deadly with them.
