Today my friend Steve and I drove to Jordan, near Cross Timbers, to take a Model 97 Winchester and BSS to Rod Gates, to have work done. On the way we stopped at a pawn shop, and this 44 Mag Super Blackhawk Hunter followed me home. It has an unfluted cylinder, came with a 2x6 Bushnell scope mounted. Elmer Keith might have killed that 600 yard mule deer with the first shot with this rig. We ran out of time to have Gates give it a trigger job, but first we need to see how it shoots. It was about half the price of setting up a brand new revolver with mounts, scope and holster.
My, there are bargains in used guns these days.

This is a good excuse to get out the 44 Mag cases and the 2400 and the Keith bullets.
Anybody else have one of these hip cannons they've played with?
It looks like a lot of fun.
