Was looking at some Fiocchi 7/8oz 1350fps shells. Was curious what the recoil would be comparable to? Generally I shoot 1oz 1200-1250fps. Thanks in advance for your feedback.

I would guess they are pretty close to the same, There is a recoil calculator online somewhere. Plug in the numbers, and it gives you an answer.

Nothing scientific, but I've shot several flats of Fio 7/8 (Shooting Dynamics 1350). To me the felt recoil is much the same as the 1-oz. 1235 Estate shell - generally pretty pleasant.

7/8 oz. 1350 fps = 16.5 ft/lbs

I purchased a flat to try on closer to midrange Fitasc presentations. Shot through Perazzi/Wilkinson 19 & 25thou. The softer lead @ 1350 hammers them! My initial perception, felt pretty stout. After rolling smoke, could hardly feel them. To me, felt comparable to a 1oz. 1,250-1,280.? Great Load!

I shoot a lot 7/8oz 1325's I load. Great round. I have loaded 1oz 1200 and 1250. To me easy to tell the difference between the two. I would put the 7/8oz close to the 1200 1oz, maybe a little less.

More shot = more recoil. Less shot = less recoil.

More speed = more recoil. Less speed = less recoil.

If I wanted less recoil I'd rather give up speed than shot.

Roughly x% change in either speed or velocity equals a 2x% change in recoil.

I shoot the Fiocchi 7/8oz 1350fps shells for practice and they work great. They hit really hard out of my Krieghoff K80 and my Beretta A400 both using Muller U 2's.

My experience w/ 7'8th at 1350 is IM choke is required to make them into a useful pattern. YMMV

Man did I really love those cheap Federal 7/8oz 12ga promo loads. Had a good couple of years with them before they disappeared.

My experience as well. My slow ( around 1180) 7/8 12-gauge reloads perform well enough through M. Faster than 1300 seem to like IM or F.

(I am old and recoil averse; so, I prefer slow, soft, and modified.)

Me , too.

I got some of the 7/8ths @1350 and hated them. I am more a 7/8th at 1160 -- an actual B&P load, which I can no longer find.

I generally shoot M/IM for everything so should be good. I ordered a couple of flats to play with. More curious than anything else since I’ve never shot any 7/8oz shells.

I've shot a few flats of the B&P's which I bought for my wife. She has shot 10 flats over time. I wish I could still get them but since 2020 , I have not found a place they are available.

I shoot a K-80 with Parcour barrels, M & IM. I also shoot a lot of 7/8 oz. in 8 1/2’s @ 1275. That combination absolutely smokes targets out to 35 yards. I don’t leave home without 7/8 oz loads.

I have not tried the B&P; just never saw any locally. My favorite factory 12-ga. 7/8 is/was the Federal 7/8x1200. Soft recoil and great performance, but I have not seen any in at least two years maybe three.

I think the Fiocchi trainer is 7/8 @1180? Anyway, those are just great loads.
