I have a parkerized 870 police magnum (new model with R3) and want to get a hunting barrel. Should any 2-3/4" OR 3" stamped barrel fit my gun or will certain barrels not fit?

How close is the matte blued finish to parkerizing appearance-wise?

As for as I know all 870 barrels with in gauge will fit with the exception of the special field models for some reason I think the ring that goes around mag tube is in a differant place...

i have interchanged 25 year old 2-3/4 only barrels onto 3 inch express recievers with good fit. and visa versa--the cheapie on the old wingmaster.

the parked finish is a contrast to the blue finish, but if you find or have a barrel that doesn't match, it doesn't look too bad. luckily the matte finish express vent rib barrels can be had for decent money and are common. It is the remchoke barrels that seem to cost a lot.
