Is a little bit play between the trigger group and reciever normal? When the gun is completely assembled, there is a side to side movement as it sits in the reciever. thanks for any info.

Yes.

It is not an issue, I have an 870TB Trap with 75,000+ shells through it and it has no more play than my "lower mileage" guns.

Depending upon how "crafty" you are, the play can be eliminated. And all this can be done without a machine shop full of tools. I would first attempt to slip some feeler gauges between the trigger ***'y and the receiver to gauge roughly how much extra play there is. Then we can go from there.

i knew that it probably wasn't anything serious, I just hadn't noticed it before. Im not gonna try to "fix" it though, because it doesn't bother me. Thanks again for the replys.
