I am looking at a used 912. It is immaculate except for the inside of the reciever. It looks like someone has chipped away on the bottom of the inside where the spent shells eject ( i would say that looking down on it, it shows 60% of the metal gone) and there is also a pretty good sized area in the other side of the reciever that is worn in. I was told by all of the store's staff that it was very common and no big deal. One guy said his Benelli is worse and never fails on him.

Is this a "stay away from" or no big deal thing with aluminum recivers????

This is a high wear on the Franchi 6,7, and 9 hundred series. If you look here on the Franchi forum there are some pictures of 612's with this wear. Some seem to wear more and faster than others. I does not appear to cause any issues. The lugs for the bolt face ride well under this spot and on top of the receiver.
