I have an old shotgun from my father-in-law:

ROYAL GUN WORKS BELGIUM
MODIFIED DIANA MODEL 2612
SERIAL NUMBER 123495

would like some help finding the year of manufacture and value of this gun. Thanks to anyone who can help.

Carder's "Side by Sides of the World for Y2K" lists this as a hardware store gun circa. 1900. Hinman's "Golden Age of Shotguns" lists it as having laminated (vs. either twist or damascus) steel barrels. The 1908 Sears Catalog prices it at $10.98. Combine all of this and we come up with JABC (just another Belgian clunker), a pure hardware store import. value is just that of a wall hanger- $150.00 tops. Sorry I couldn't give you better news.
