I Google searched "alcan al-8 load data", from what I read its for 12 gauge 1 3/8 oz. and up loads.
If that is what you are looking for there is plenty of info there.

I used several different Alcan powders in 12 & 20 ga. 2.75" guns! There were some plastic wads coming on the market but they were not like the one piece wads of today. Alcan made good products. It was a loss to the reloading community when they closed their doors!

 

I used AL-8 for 38 special, 357 magnum, and 44 magnum, never used it for shotgun. Wish it was still available, loved it for handguns.

@toptechX6 That's the kind of data I'm looking for. I have a couple recipes in Lymans 2nd but they are heavier payloads with really large doses of AL-8.

BTW- anyone know what KS refers to in the wad column?

 

If you look carefully there is a reference to something named KwikSert, likely one of Alcan's proprietary wads.

The vast majority of shotshell loads for Alcan powders include Alcan components and not many have stuff we can get now. If you only have a little it may not be worth getting loads tested.

 

the kwik sert is a little card stock that come with their wads.
you took it out for more volume [about 1/8 oz airc]
i could go measure since i have a few boxes of their wads but the height eyeballs to me to be 1/8oz.

anyway think of a short cupped steel shot wad and you'll have an idea of a typical Alcan wad.
