vincyr,
Thanks for the post. I have owned and used single shot shotguns my whole life. All have been H&R but I have looked at the Rossi and found them an OK firearm. Those single 20 gauges have brought home goose, duck, grouse, a deer, a peacock, rabbit and rid our farm of assorted vermin. With practice it would shoot slugs OK out of a modified choke. Never, and I repeat never have I had an issue with my "cheap POS guns" as some here would classify them. I like the full choke better for general purpose use. I read all the time of those who have paid many hundreds more for their guns having issues with breakages and such. My $100 boomsticks just keep trucking along. No issues, problems or fuss.
You have done your research on your gun and you should do as you feel comfortable with. This is America and if you feel OK shooting slugs then you go right ahead. For the most part the folks on this sight are pretty snobbish. Most probably wouldn't admit that they ever owned a single shot for fear of being classed as a "poor boy". Not me. I love my singles. I plan on buying more of them. For me it puts the hunt back into hunting. Strong, simple and for the most part idiot proof. Some firearms manufacturers warn against using hand loads but that don't stop the informed from loading their own shells. Do it myself. This is still America boy. Don't let the stuffed shirts sway you one bit. Examine all aspects from a safety standpoint and do what you feel right with. Thanks for the review.

You jackasses should be ashamed of the way you picked on that fella. A simple honest conversation seems to be beyond some of you jerks. These forums are a way for many youngsters to learn and you buttholes stump jumped him with total glee. This forum has turned into a horrible disgrace. I lurk in the background picking up info from time to time but this thread really pissed me off. I'm glad people on the other forums I use are not the snobbish twits you all seem to be. Get bent.
