Have searched around as Stickies suggest.
And Browning doesn't show this serial# or format...

Its definitely a Browning Auto 5, 20 gauge. Has gold trigger, maybe a Light? We know its been around in the family since at least 1975 or so... ( but Who, When, How???)
Serail number on bottom of reciever is
4Z
86149
The markings are on two lines as shown...
Barrell has,
Browning Arms Co St Louis Mo & Montreal PQ
Made in Blegiun

Cant find any markings indicaing the choke ( although there are lots of funny special marks - proof marks. etc i guess), but i'd say either fixed mod or full from using it. Gun is in at least very good condition, probable excelent.

Am going to sell or trade it for a new, more moden shotgun capable with of steel shot and choke tubes.

The Browning Date you gun site does says many special and limited versions serails arent listed.
Do I possibly have a special or limited gun and what should i expect as value for sale or trade?

Thanks in Advance,
Bob...

I have a Belguim Browning 20 gauge, serial # 4Z 82708, ribbed barrel, 2 3/4". Good to excellent condition, what would you consider a fair asking price to a private buyer?

Grading 100% 98% 95% 90% 80% 70% 60%
FN-vent. rib $850 $725 $645 $575 $465 $435 $395
Add 10% for 20 ga. with VR.

Were it me, I think I'd try for $600 -$650 but dicker down to $550 .
