So...do yall? I live in SC so its not THAT cold here, although it can be sub-30s early in the morning. Can a GSP handle that?

They can be used for Ducks and if you are in a blind and can warm them up they will do ok. I have two Wirehairs I use for ducks all the time. Get a good Neoprene vest for him/her they really help a lot.

As long as the water isn't to cold. If you want a versatile dog for late season duck hunting where the water is cold or has ice on it a wirecoated dog is a lot better. I hunt my GWP's all season on lakes that are sometimes frozen over. No problem as long as I can find a little open water.
