I have seen some debate about ATI products, and while I kind of agree because of this issue, i love the stock itself enough that I want to try to fix the issue. The only other competitor for tactical stocks for a Moss 500 is Knoxx Spec Ops which doesnt make a plain "pistol grip buttstock" configuration. All ive seen from them is adjustables, folders, pistol grips, and standard stocks.
So heres my issue.. the buttpad on this stock feels great. Soft and cushy with a lot of grip to it. But... they failed... they failed something epic... the pad has no real support for the screws to keep it on the stock. The buttpad is literally just a molded chunk of rubber. No metal or hardened plastic/rubber supports inside the screwholes for it to cinch down onto, so when the screws are in, you can still just peel the pad off the stock if you try hard enough. Even with little effort (as I have never actually ripped it completely off) you can pull it away easily enough to see the guts of the buttstock. Its just not designed well on the pad side of the stock. I love everything else about it, but that recoil pad either needs to be replaced, or modified to be more stable.
Has anyone had this issue? Should I try small washers at the expense of looks and possibly comfort? or is there a way to change out that recoil pad and have it molded/shaped to fit the shape of the stock?
