:D Hi all, I have a small project (re-finishing a SxS Forearm), and have a question. Here goes. Once the old finish is stripped, do you just apply the B-C Tru-oil or do you need to stain the wood first?

As you can all tell, I'm no expert in this field.

Thanks for all your help!!!!

Yes, stain first. I have always had better luck with Tru-oil using bare fingers to apply it. As with any finish, a lot of thin coats are better than few thick ones....Jack

The answer lies in the current color of the stock. If stock and forend are of relatively the same color, don't stain. If not, I would refinish both at the same time, to ensure even color.
