This is my modest collection of Baikals,The top gun is a IJ-27 U/O 12 bore, the second one down the same but I modified this one for use with steel shot by shortening the barrels slightly to open the choke up,and I fitted a recoil pad after shortening the stock, both of these guns are marked made in USSR.The third gun is a .223 cal single shot rifle, and the bottom one a IJ-18 20 ga single barrel shotgun, both of these guns marked made in Russia. The Makarov is also made by Baikal, but this one is a C02 pellet gun rather than the usual 9x18 or .380 caliber,I just got it a few weeks ago.
I bought this Baikal O/U from a friend whom needed some cash fast. I heard alot about these , some good, some bad. I always wanted a O/U 12 ga. for turkey & duck hunting but the prices on a good stack barrel gun is shocking. I gave 300.00 for this Baikal O/U with extra chokes and a soft case.
Some folks didnt like the idea me camoing this pretty gun, but I use a gun for what it is and plus I take this gun to all the shows I peddle my business. I have a camo dipping business and this shotgun is on display at my booth.
I love this gun cause of a dependable shotgun. The only things I've done with this is dipped it of course, but had Balistic Specialites "Angle Port" worked on the forcing cones some and shooting Carlsons 665 turkey chokes and sent off the butt stock to "Limb Savers to custom fit one to it. Other wise this gun patterns very nicely
40 yards, Winchester Xended 3" #6's
I put this O/U up against my buddies Red Lable on the pattern board and out done him eveytime. He doesnt make them wise cracks about "That Communist Shotgun" anymore.
Just picked up a new Remington SPR310 12 gauge .. after a few hours cleaning it up its ready for trap shooting. Nice look and feel, I added a HiViz light sight to the front as the small screw was far to small to see in the day let alone the night.
