how can i remove bead sight from 870 18" plain barrel. bead is on raised ramp. does the bead unscrew or is it welded.

The man at Wal-Mart told me they where pressed in, he didn't sound sure though. I was wonder the same thing, any info would help. Thanks

Grab it with a pair of pliers and give it a twist....... ..

Mine was screwed in, i found this out by mistake when i cut some of the end of my barrel off.

Gunsmith friend of mine said Express beads are press fit, Wingmasters are threaded.

I hate bead sights, I don't understand why they come that way. I love rifle sights, especially when shooting slugs.
