{hs# Happy Friday!
My favorite day of the week as George Jones says "Finally Friday".
I get to have a beer (or ten) on Fridays and Saturdays and i look forward to it. Normally i love Dos Equis Lager- but these days i got to have something lighter. I got for Tecate Light!
:D
The ritual is to take a pint glass and put a bit of water on it stick it in the freezer at lest an hour before beer time (or if you are like me you keep about 8 in there super frosty!).
Take that frosty puppy out , slice a lime and rub it around the rim, then stick it in some Kosher salt. Next squeeze your half lime in the glass. Open you glass bottle of Tecate light (or Dos Equis). Pour with the ping glass at a tilt and slowly so there is no head.
Now take that first sip! Magnificent.
It is a little know fact that a German beirmeister actually relocated and started brewing Tecate -it is why they have the German eagle on the can\glass. Or at least that's what i heard.
What is your favorite beer? Any home brewers?
:?:

My ritual is to remove whatever is in the fridge, chug it, and be thankful it was in the fridge. I'm an equal opportunity beer guy....only preference is it is cold, however, a warm beer isn't bad.

HA HA! I like it! Worst beer i ever had:
We used to conoe down the Pecos river here in Texas for week in my youth. I guess I was about 18 at the time. We would do about ten miles a day drinking beer the whole time (i was younger then :) )
At the start of this trip i had a ice chest filled up with good old Busch beer (the beer of presidents -as i would like to say). Well i commenced to putting the fish i would catch in that ice chest with the beer to keep em fresh. Well towards the end of the trip all the ice was melted and i had warm fishy water with beer floatin in it -still drank it though!! :)

Sometimes I drink good beer like Guinness or sierra Nevada or something such as that. Where I live in East Texas those beer options are not as readily easy to come by so most of the time it's just a Coors light or a lone star. Back when I was younger and single I used to bother with the frosty mugs. Now with wife and kids I just don't have the time or the energy to worry about it. However I do have my own mini fridge out in the shop that is where the beer lives. My usual ritual is to grab one of the koosies that are stacked on top of the fridge, slip a beer in it, put some beer salt in it, fire up a cigar, warm up the tube amp, and pick some blues. Cheers.

My favorite beer is FREE BEER. My second favorite is ICE COLD BEER (that someone else is paying for!). After that I have some I like better than others. But no one should EVER, and I mean NEVER! put fruit in beer.

I'll have more on the subject later, but I'm running low in my own fridge and after hearing about DogWontHUNT and his fruit, it's gonna take a few cold ones this afternoon to recover from the shock...........................the Mailman

Sheesh! I thought you said something about BEER! Dos Equis!? Tecate!? The Coors (beer flavored water) of the Mexican beer world.

If you like Mexican, at least Corona Extra, but the best Mexican beer is Modelo Negra. Now that's beer.

Turbo Dog by Abita brewery in Abita Springs, Louisiana (or anything else by Abita for that matter), Fat Tire, anything Tommy Knockers - as long as it's not one of those danged fruity berry beers.

I've sworn a vow of beerabacy on the 4th of July.. I figured I would try to go beer and soda free until Labor say. Water only. Why? I figured I would see what affect it made on my weight. I ring in about 295 at 5-8"..kind of portly. Doc has been after me about my weight and so I figured I would see what happened.so far so good half way there. But not much difference in weight.
I'm not a terrible heavy drinker. I drink on the weekends and that's about it. My go to beer is Miller Lite. Specifically the 16 ounce alumitek cans with screw on lid or cottles as I call them. It's not a can, it's not a bottle, it's a cottle.
I will say a Tecare in the can with a wedge of line is out if site.
If you like IPA beers you can't go wrong with a Terrapin beer from Athens Georgia. The Hopesecutioner is excellent.
Worst beer I ever had was a was arch Ale. I don't know what a sweaty sack tastes like, but I'm fairly certain that the beer is brewed from the sweat off a Clydesdales sack. 8(

I'm with you on Modelo Negra, John. It's right up there with Guinness for me. I do like Dos Equis Ambar, too, along with Smithwicks and Killian's Red. I lean toward darker beers most of the time, and, since I live not too far from Chippewa Falls, naturally a lot of Leinikugels passes through my fridge - Octoberfest, Red, Creamy Dark, Vanilla Porter, Bock, etc. I have found one good use for the fruit beers like Lemon Berry Shandy, though. It works great for Beer Can Chicken  . Wouldn't want to waste a good dark beer cooking with it, right? :)

I do like many of the Leininkugel offerings myself. The only "fruity beer" I've found even remotely worth drinking is the Leininkugel Summer Shandy - and it's just lightly lemony.

I'll have to look for Dos Equis Ambar (sp?)

I was trying to spell it as on the label, but didn't have one on hand to check. There's also a Dos Equis Azul that has Agave nectar. Does that count as fruit? I usually drink the left over Lemon Shandy when I'm "beer canning" chicken (season it with Lemon Pepper, it's a good combination), but I prefer to make a Shandy with Limeade instead. Maybe that should be called Grog?

My oldest son just turned 21, so after we finished a couple of my coors light that was on hand, he bought a case of Budweiser long necks. I forgot how much better those are!

We used to refer to our favorite beer as OP beer. "Other Peoples".

Lol
I drank a lot of OP when I was in college.

Shiner beers also make my list, Shiner Bock especially. Brewed in Shiner, Texas - near San Antonio. Any Texan who doesn't choose Shiner over Lone Star or Coors either isn't a real Texan or lives in the liberal capital of Texas, Austin.

Easy now. Thems fighting words. I've had Shiner and just never cared for it. Not knocking it, just not to my taste.

Well I quit drinking January 1st 2013.

I went cold turkey. Finally figure I have my life somewhat under control so I actually bought a couple of beers with dinner the other night. Michelob Ultra Draft and man were they fine!

My favorite is Mic Ultra, St. Benardus, and Budweiser.

I'm late to the beer thread but I did drink some Bud Light Platinum this weekend. Not my normal beer but it was the best the gas station had and I didn't feel like driving further. My favorites are Guinness, Sam Adams, Killian's Irish Red, and Michelob Amber Bock. But I will always drink OP beer no matter the type! :D {hs#

:) Shiner Bock used to sponser my Rugby team -man i hated that stuff -it tasted like uncooked hamburger meat and chewing tobacco.
I am the only one (almost) that doesn't like it. I still drank tons of it though cause it was free! :)
Also don't spill it on your shirt -it will stain it brown! :)
They had a keg of Dos Equis at the party i went to Saturday night. It was most interesting ;)
