Hi,

can anyone tell me definitively what's the difference bewteen these two guns? The beretta site doesn't offer much explanation, and neither do the online retail sites. I'm looking for a gun that i can take to the skeet/clays range but also use in the field.

The only things i can see different are a different set of chokes (skeet vs. cylinder), maybe a little different engraving, and perhaps different wood/finish. Anything else? Thanks.

Tom

The rib is wider & higher on a sporting gun than it is on a field gun. Also a more severe and beefier pistol grip on target/ sporting than field. Thus overall weight is slightly greater on sporting than field.

These are the new model, optima (back bored and Optima Choke rather than standard Mobile Choke).

The stock at the butt is different on the Sport to the 391. The Trap model stock is just about the same dimensions as the Xtrema, the 391 is slightly smaller at the grip.

Barrel length will be a varriable from 391, to sport, trap, etc.
