I have several Beretta O/Us. I never take mine out even if there is a chance of wet weather. I have other designated rainy day guns. However, I do use Howards Wax on all my guns. It gives them a nice sheen and a degree of protection. Any good wax should protect the wood on a gun from light wetness exposure without having to resort to any more extensive refinishing options.
