Beretta AL391 Disassembly

Gents,

Despite my better judgement I went out to Galyan's and bought a clearanced last yr mdl 391 Beretta at a great price. I just saw so much improved handling qualities over the 1187 for only $100 more. Very impressed with the engineering but is a little more complex than a 1100 Remington. A lot better than all the Italian designed machinery I have run across to date.

I took the gun down to clean and lube before I fired it for the first time and have 2 questions. I could spend a few hours research and figure it out myself but figured I would ask here first.

1.) What is the best way to remove end cap/gain access to the magazine tube for cleaning & lube?

2.) What is the best way to do the same for the recoil spring that slides into the buttstock? I wondered about taking the tube out of the aluminum reciever...it seems very tight...

Any help would be appreciated,

Ike

BTW regarding the limiter in the magazine. I have 2 rods one is shorter then the other and the shorter one still only allows 2 shells in the magazine. If I put it together with no rods I can get 3 shells in.

It should be ok with no rod in or should I make one of the rods shorter?

TY,
William
