I'm trying to learn more about the 687 EL Gold Pigeons and curious if anyone has any knowledge on them. I took my 12ga Beretta 693 28" bbls into my LGS today to swap it for a 20ga and was presented with an immaculate Beretta S687 EL Gold Pigeon 20ga/28"bbls (claims to have never been used and I believe it). The wood was drastically nicer than the 693 and the LGS owner being a close family friend said he would let me swap my 693 12 gauge (very lightly used) for the 687 with no money owed - so basically the cost of the 693 - ~2700. The deal seemed too good to be true and there were 2 people behind me waiting on the 687 so I did it.
From what little I could find on them, they were discontinued around 2002. I don't see many that have sold recently but have seen prices on 12ga ranging from 2k - $4k (dating back to 2007). It's a beautiful gun and points very well for me so I plan on shooting the hell out of it at birds and clays but am curious of the value. I feel like I got a good deal but need some reassurance...even if it's not, it still fits really well so I'm not going to loose any sleep.
Any input would be much appreciated!
As always, thank you in advance.
