Afternoon folks, I acquired this from an older friend of mines wife. It had belonged to her brother that had passed. I'd like some help dating it, I'm confused on the barrel as well. Yes, I have been through all 39 pages, pretty cool collection of info.

Ok, from the first picture I can see that it's a post WWII Sweet Sixteen barrel. (16-70 and lightening holes)

The second picture tells me it's 1953 or later. (No serial number on the barrel ring.)

The third shot shows the receiver to be 1951-57. (Cross bolt safety and square corner ejection port.)

And the forth picture, with the serial number R2605 shows me it's a standard receiver from 1953. (Page ONE of the guide.)

The barrel is not original to the gun. You can date the barrel by the date code, which I couldn't make out.
