I have recently inherited a browning A5 12ga with ventilated rib barrel with a modified choke with a gold trigger .The breach and forearm stock are engraved as the grip on the stock.It says it was made in belgium also says special steel barrel.the only id number i can find is 9G58190.Please let me know the value and when it was made.Zach

Your gun was made in 1959. It is a Lightweight Model. It should have light scroll foliage engraving on the receiver and the forend and butt stock should be checkered. The gold trigger was standard for the gun.

Value depends mostly on condition as well as originality.

If the gun is in 90% condition, or better, and has not been refinished or modified, the value would be in the $500-$700 range.

Any "engraving" on the stock or on the breach bolt will devalue the gun about 50% or more.
