The BT99 is a sweet gun. I saw one last week at a trap club. It's owner was waiting till the bird was 5 feet off the ground to shoot (from the 16 yard kine), I was impressed. The stock is super adjustable, and the gun looks great. I think it lists for $1600 new now, so $850 for a used gun in good shape is probably a good price.

Thanks

Hi psawn57--

I see you've already gotten some good advice on value from Mark T, so I just wanted to welcome you to Shotgunworld.com. I hope also that you'll consider registering and joining the conversation--you'll learn stuff (there's a whole clays games forum here) plus others will get the benefit of your experience.

Possibly you've tried this, but a good general tip for checking prices is to look on gunsamerica, gunbroker, and auctionarms.com; you can check to see if there's a similar piece for sale by someone and see what they want for it, and on the auctions even what it went for. Actually buying from these sites can be risky, of course, so beware.

Good luck, and I hope you'll stop back and let us know what you decided on the purchase.

I think you will find $850 is a very good price for a new BT-99. Is this current production, or an older gun someone still has? Some folks prefer the older guns, and they do look a little nicer than the current production guns, which are plain without engraving. I have an older gun that my boy shoots and a current production, adj comb gun that I shoot. Either is an outstanding trap gun. The fact that Browning brought it back due to popular demand tells you a lot!

I just bought a brand new Bt-99 for $1200. Keep that in mind when thinking about buying a used one for $850. That is a good price for the gun but for a couple hundred dollars more you can have a brand new one. Just look at all your option and do your homework on the gun and don't rush into buying it. I made a lot of mistakes buying used guns because I had to have it right away. I hope this helps.
