Long story short, this was my great grandfathers gun, passed down 3 generations and now belongs to me. I've fired 1000's of rounds through the gun, worked great, but I moved and loaned the gun to my uncle who while out shooting dropped it into a slew, sortof cleaned it off and then threw the gun into a case for 2yrs
Anyways, I got the gun back, rusted to hell, took it all over the place and everyone said sell it for parts it's garbage. Eventually I found someone who was able to restore the gun to this condition shown in the pictures. The problem is the mechanism doesn't seem to work nearly as smooth as it used to and doesn't feel right to me.
Before the gun performed flawlessly, now after the restoration it works... ... but you really have to break the barrels hard for the firing pins to work, tearing the gun down doesn't feel as smooth... I just don't think it's operating as it should.
I posted pic's on another forum and recieved comments about the position of the opening lever being as far left as it is when closed that the gun is in need of some parts that are worn out. And I was told since I live in Canada to try and find someone by the name of Nick Makinson to check it over for me. Is there anyone who knows how to get ahold of this man or someone else qualified to check over/repair the mechanisms in this gun?
