Pheasant season opens this weekend and it doesn't appear like it's going to be worth a hoot.
Acres and acres of crops still out, virtually no field work done, add to that the low numbers I've seen from the combine all add up to low numbers of birds per acre and lots of walking to come.
On the bright side, after opening weekend there generally aren't many , if any "hunters" left so when it does improve later on, it could be bonanza time.
