I had the chance to give a quick look to the SPR453 at Gander Mountain. Other than some minor cosmetic changes to the carrier, end cap and finish, it's pretty much the same gun. The styling and feel of the synthetic stock is different from my MP-153.

The price wasn't bad either at $349.

If Gander does another $50 off sale, I may have to add a 453 to the collection.

Swampcollie, what was the difference?

The reason I am asking is that I ordered a MP153 from CDNN and I am wondering if the $50 extra SPR 453 for a better stock might have been worth the wait.

The forend on the 453 is shaped with slightly wider bottom in the palm of your hand than my 153. The synthetic version has very little if any cast off, though that's usually expected with a composit stock.

Aesthetically speaking the 453 feels somewhat more robust when shouldering it.

:!: , I'm not the only night creature

I havn't seen a 453 around here yet and I was just wondering.

The 153s forend would probably fit my smaller hands better than the 453.

I curious how the lesser cast off stock will work for me, the synthetic I ordered is going to be for H.D.

I have a wood stocked 153 with 28 inch barrel and its great, also the wood stock appears to have substantial cast off.
