I've got data from most everyone under the sun and I forget which one it is that says to use the Winchester 209 and the Cheddite 209 interchangably.

Actually i credit Winders for this:
I challenged anyone to find a 3dram eqiuv or less load that would become dangerous if any standard (non Magnum) primers were switched, and by God, Winders did it! (Good Job Scott)
On the Hodgdon website load data:

STS Hull
1 1/8 oz Win 209 WAA12 18.4 Clays 1200 fps 11,300 psi
1 1/8 oz Ched 209 WAA12 16.4 Clays 1145 fps 10,600 psi

Substituting the Cheddite 209 in load #1 with the 18.4 grs of clays would probably push pressures quite a ways above SAMMI, They'd still be fine in my 3.5" guns with a SAMMI of 14,500 psi,but would be over in non 3.5 guns.

The cheddite/win primer switch isn't identical ballistically in all cases.

The 3 Dram example i cited isn't what you'd deem "full throttle" by any means. You'd have to be at a Win209 2 1/2 dram X-Lite load or so to have the cheddite primer substitution be ok in the cited recipe.

Yep,
I trap shoot with a guy who's always replacing the pins in his Citori
because they start flaking and piercing, i told him it was the cheddite primers that was causing it.
His response:
Oh well, firing pins are cheap.

To each their own i guess.
