Being new to this i am very ignorant about the chokes. i am going to a Gun Club Block Shoot tomorrow and am wondering what the best choke would be for this type of setting.

i have a mossberg 535 28" barrel

any sugestions would be apreciated.

What is the Gun Club Block Shoot? Will you be shooting trap, skeet, or sporting clay?

sorry about the lack of info

it is a card board X target about 15 yards out. everyone shoots at their own target and the winner is the one with the closest hole to the center of the x. there is a smaller x on the bottom used as a tie breaker.

so what i am looking for i guess is what would be the best choke to use in a situation like this.

Ah , A turkeyshoot ( card shoot ) I think the 535 is a standard bore ( 7.27-- 7.30 ) just like the 500 and not like the overbore 835 . Get you a hasting's .640 screw in choke . They are about 40 dollars . Or you can get you a undertaker Turkey choke . Underatker will measure out at .665 , they are about 25.00 unless walmart has gotten some in they are about 15 dollars there. The hasting's choke will be at a gun shop or specialty store or order off internet. what are the rules for the shoot? 15 yards dont sound right. that is only 45 feet . most shoots are 58--90 feet

nope its a close one.
it is held out behind the clubhouse and (we set up an archery novelty shot there sometimes so i am familiar with the distance)
farthest it could be is about 20 yards.

ill look into those chokes you sugested but for tommorrow i have only got what came with the gun so i can chose from the full, improved cylinder, and modified chokes for tomorrow

since i am not familiar with what these do i dont know which to chose.
