I have narrowed my search down to these two. Other than palm swell and Midas chokes, what is the difference?

The 525 has a lower comb, so one or the other will fit you better. The XS is also less expensive. That's about it.

The big difference is the pistol grip configuration of the 525 which is very vertical and some say clumsey, others say terrific. Mechanically, the guns are identical. My vote goes to the XS (really its the 425 with vented side rib), but I'm bias. I own an XS and find in to be a close to perfect do it all package.
