Cracked Forend on a Super Black Eagle....NORMAL????

I purchased an SBE with a wood stock about three weeks ago. While cleaning the gun tonight, I noticed that the forend is cracking directly under the barrel (in the thin section). Has anyone else had this same experience? Considering the cost of the gun, finding this defect this early is somewhat disturbing. I would appreciate anyone's input.

ummm thats not normal ... warranty return time .... think Benelli has a good one and stands behind thier workmanship.
