I’ve been looking at buying a CZ Bobwhite G2 recently and realized they make an “intermediate” version that features a 14” LOP and 26” barrels. Many folks have stated that the standard LOP (14.5) is actually closer to 14, so does anybody know the true measurements of this intermediate model?

Additionally, I’m wondering if this model may be a bit livelier in handling with those 26” barrels, considering the Bobwhites tend to have forward shifted balance point. Anybody have experience with this?

I have two Bobwhite G2. The 20 gauge has a LOP of 14 and 3/8 and the 28 gauge has a LOP of 14 and 1/2. I have no experience with the intermediate model. However, as indicated by the variation in the LOP of my 2 guns, there are probably going to be variations in the LOP in the intermediate models from what is advertised as is true with advertised weight of guns. I understand how weight can vary due to wood density, but don’t understand why they can’t get the LOP the exact same on all guns as advertised.

MTfella,
I also own the 28 gauge G2 Bob White gun, LOP 14 3/8" advertised as 14". The gun works well with the DT and the new barrel finish. Have been using it for gun dog training, shooting training birds, and shooting Clays. I do wish the stock was the 14" LOP advertised. For the money however the gun is a winner all the way, carrying case, gun sleeves and screw in chokes. Gun patterns well and is regulated properly for shooting birds, with 3" chambers, if you want to shoot Ducks. Checkering looks to be 20 Lines per inch, feels nice when shooting also. My gun is a might heavy for a 28 gauge gun, at 6.5 Lbs the Turkish Walnut on my gun is very heavy, along with the new 28" barrel finish. The 28 gauge gun balances right in front of the breech work, which I like very much.

all the best,

Backwater52,

I agree with the new B&P shells nobody should feel under gunned with a 20 gauge any more. Real nice Grouse guns and they always have been. The same goes for the 28 gauge, the newer B&P and Fiocchi shells make all the difference.

all the best,

A little Fox 20 gauge with modified Brown Rotary Bolt, one serious bird gun.
