Today was the early season opener for the resident Canada goose season. Had some folks come in from GA, Montgomery, and Ft Payne, AL. I think the fellas were a little worried that we were starting out late as we didn't even get up till about 6 and finally got to the location around 7:30-8. I felt bad for them as we had stayed up till almost 2am that night telling hunting stories and having gone to Hooter's so let them sleep in.

Anyway, when we got to the spot there were a few to be seen and several to be heard. One good group of 15 came in as planned and 12 stayed in the decoys.

Two of us are about to head back over there and see if the birds are roosting on the pond and lay the smack down on them if they come in. We didn't do as well as some friends in DE who were set up before first light on a large freshly cut oat field as they had 25 in the first hour.
