We'll see if those fields produce any waterfowl this year too crazy. I know the pond in that lower field usually gets a pretty good mallard and teal population over the winter. We'll see what else we can chalk up. I'm also talking to a farmer in Van Zandt county about taking out some feral hogs he has tearing up his ranch. Good luck this deer season.

Hey guys,

I'm back from Asia! Got back last night. Will have to see how the jet lag goes! ugh!

Trying to decide between golf and dove hunting for tomorrow.

I'm definitely interested in joining a duck hunt with you guys!!!

Fishmstr,

I was in Hong Kong and China. Just got back last night. I had fun. Did some sightseeing and shopping when not working. Of course, everyone from my company wanted to take the new guy from the USA out for lunch and dinner. I think I gained 5 lbs. this trip. Ugh!!! lol

Hmm Pork Chops, that does sound tasty. Let me know if you got any openings.

Hong Kong, sounds like fun. I never made it to Hong Kong or China. Have been to Japan, Korea and Philippines. Philippines by far was the most fun (and most dangerous) :)

I'm going to shop for a deer/hog rifle this week. Budget is around $600 - 700 for rifle and scope. Suggestions on caliber and rifle? I'm thinking .270 or 30-06 caliber and considering the Remington 700 ADL.

Browning ABolt (various flavor) 30-06
Used Sako (any flavor)
Good old Remington 700

Scopes, give me a break Leupold, thats all I own.

My setup is a Browning Abolt Stainless Steel Stalker (Left hander) in 30-06 with a Leupold VarX III @ 3.5x10. Its good out to about 250 yards. Of Course I hunt East Texas so the longest shot was about 60 yards so far.

I now only use my BowTec Bow, but back when I used a rifle it rocked!
