I did!! For the first time in a couple years I went trap shooting. After about a 20 year lay-off four clubs are getting together to revive the Hangover Trap League. I shoot for the skeet team at one of them so what the heck. Today was the first shoot and happened to be at my club. There's a total of eight shoots, two at each club, and a shoot-off. $2/week/shooter goes to prizes, so I don't think many ringers are going to spoil the fun. All four of these clubs are just around the north end of Seneca Lake from me. Three are within 10 miles and one I've never been to is maybe 30 miles down some beautiful country roads. I hope spring gets here because the top-down Mustang is ready to roll!

I don't think I ever posted a pic of my home-made custom trap gun. I found this in a little Mom & Pop gun shop when I was killing time at the Waverly NY Auto Auction. Paid $200 NIB never fired. It's the Nat. Wild Turkey Foundation raffle gun from 2007 made by H&R. I put the custom pad on with a spacer for some extra LOP, not a bad do-it-yourself effort, if I must say so! I added some serious weight in the stock, those H&R's kick like mules! Got a hammer extension, an IM choke, and I load really light 7/8 oz. loads.

First station today I missed three birds, then nailed 18/20 the rest of the way. I kinda forgot how to float the birds. Ended up with a 37/50. I'll take it. I had a blast!.........................the Mailman

Nice, it rained all day here, so I did no shooting. :( :(

Rode today, tho' not as far as Cdb woulda if he'd been here. First time in a while that I've ridden in hard rain. Only been back on the bike a week, and it hurts. So good.
The wife and I took a 12 mile ride last week, she was trying out her new bike.

Woke the GTO up from its winter nap last week when it hit 82 deg's. Missed out on the Friday afternoon trap shoot taking the wife to the medical center for a followup shot the day after her bi-weekly chemo. Spent part of the weekend in the basement working on my shop and doing a little bit of reloading. I've got about 5 cases of shells made up for sporting clays season and some light weight 7/8 oz trap shells too.
I sure didn't have as much fun as it looks like you did. Mostly it just rained off and on all weekend around here. I did schedule a bird hunt at 4-B's tomorrow and a hunt at Spring River on Wednesday. I'm going to change things up and run Rebel at 4-B's and then Bode at Spring River rather than splitting the fields with them as I have been doing.

The most frustrating thing I did this weekend was cleaned up the excess files on my computer which erased my login for SGW. I then spent two days trying to log back on around this irritating John Deere advertisement at the bottom of the page. I could see the Log In button, but every time I tried to click on it, up came a John Deere page. The administrators need to re-think how the display advertising on here. If it wasn't for my buddies on the Huglu forum, I'd have given them the one finger salute and just moved on. I don't need that kinda frustration.

Weather over the weekend here was windy and wet. I'm installing a new Humminbird Helix fishfinder and getting ready for walleye season. It starts first low wind day I'm free.

Also now that daylight savings time is here I'll be working on improving my shooting for next years duck and dove season. Our club only has nighttime skeet shooting.
Lots of rain here, a bud and I still got out to dog train though.
Here's his Pudelopointer on a pigeon.

On my end, we got my dog steady to shot from a duck blind (finally!)

Sunday, I took my daughter to the St. Patrick's Day parade in Detroit, MI. It RAINED the whole day so my new FroggToggs raingear got a workout. Then we went shopping at one of those BIG, FANCY shopping malls. The girls had fun and I hung out in Bass Pro Shop for about 2 hours.

I bought a new box of bullets (Sierra Game Kings) for my .243 project (that looks a LOT like Mailman's H&R)

Here's my latest project:

I love the little Handi-rifle, but it's a finicky bugger...

Scouted all day for fresh turkey sign after last nights rain. I am toooo stoked about the upcoming season! Jumped up a small covey and large covey of wild quail. Scared me to death as always. Dove were everywhere as usual

Hey, Maggs! Did you know there's states where you can't register a pick-up truck unless you hang one of them-thar handi rifles in the rear window gun rack??......................the Mailman

Sunday - chased and shot some quail, toured RedStick properties north end, drank some beer and a little Woodford Reserve

Monday - chased and shot some more quail, toured more of RedStick properties, ate a fine knock-off of a Turducken - a piglet stuffed with venison backstrap and bacon and piglet backstrap. Oh yeah, drank some more beer and Woodford Reserve and Knob Creek

{hs# enjoyed having you and Curtis for a couple of days! We found a few birds in the hot weather and had a great time just hanging out! Iam so glad Curtis came back and wrapped up the season with Trixsie! The oysters, pig, fish, etc were good....and so were the libations! Enjoyed having you guys again John! Curtis got him a few birds for the freezer, and you didn't even mention your 43 yard shot on that quail with the 28 Dickenson yesterday either!!!!
See! We've got stuff to talk about! I have to start fasting tonight. Routine blood work in the A.M. Since the draw station is right around the corner, I stopped by today to get the pee cup. Much easier at home than at the office after a 12 hr fast.

Now, that's getting off topic.......................the Mailman

I'll get to all that in a separate post - just wanted to answer Mailman's question
Looks like I'm going to get to shovel snow tomorrow :x . It was nearly 70 here Saturday, the snow's all gone, lakes on the verge of opening - all a month too early, so winter's going to get one more crack at us . Winter Storm Warning for 6 to 10 inches of snow from 7:00 a.m. tomorrow to 7:00 a.m. Thursday, after heavy rain and possible thunder tonight  . Nice to live where the weather can be so variable, I guess; at least it's not boring.
