I did!! For the first time in a couple years I went trap shooting. After about a 20 year lay-off four clubs are getting together to revive the Hangover Trap League. I shoot for the skeet team at one of them so what the heck. Today was the first shoot and happened to be at my club. There's a total of eight shoots, two at each club, and a shoot-off. $2/week/shooter goes to prizes, so I don't think many ringers are going to spoil the fun. All four of these clubs are just around the north end of Seneca Lake from me. Three are within 10 miles and one I've never been to is maybe 30 miles down some beautiful country roads. I hope spring gets here because the top-down Mustang is ready to roll!

I don't think I ever posted a pic of my home-made custom trap gun. I found this in a little Mom & Pop gun shop when I was killing time at the Waverly NY Auto Auction. Paid $200 NIB never fired. It's the Nat. Wild Turkey Foundation raffle gun from 2007 made by H&R. I put the custom pad on with a spacer for some extra LOP, not a bad do-it-yourself effort, if I must say so! I added some serious weight in the stock, those H&R's kick like mules! Got a hammer extension, an IM choke, and I load really light 7/8 oz. loads.

First station today I missed three birds, then nailed 18/20 the rest of the way. I kinda forgot how to float the birds. Ended up with a 37/50. I'll take it. I had a blast!.........................the Mailman

Not getting the other one done? Both of mine were trashed, the left knee (the problem child), was so far gone the kneecap was sunk down so far it would not even move when being manupliated.

Hopefully not for 3-4 years. I tore the meniscus in my right knee in high school, and 40 years of wear and tear finally took its toll on it. I can tell my left is going to be an issue down the road, but for now, it can wait.
Me and Linda went to the indoor range today, blew through 500 rounds of 22, 380, 9mm, and 45ACP. Lots of fun.

I ran Rebel and Dan in a field trial today in Joplin. Both dogs did well but were not even close to a winning score. Dan did have one thing of note, he had the fastest time to the first bird and was on the opposite side of the trial grounds from the starting position. He ran all the way across the 40 acre trial grounds and found and pointed a quail in 55 seconds. cdb, better work on your exercise program before February, that little sucker can run.
Went to the trap range with my son and a friend and his son, and shot 4 rounds of trap. Temps we 60+ in the Denver area today. It was a fun day. My son even shot 50 straight, and a round of 24 and one of 21, for a 95/100 for the day. He had only shot about 8 rounds of trap prior to today. To say the least, the son easily beat the old man today.

No way on gods green earth will I be ready for that. You are going to have to tie a concrete block to his collar. I hope to be walking good by the end of February, there will be NO running especially in an uneven field.

cdb
Not to worry, Dan's exceptionally steady on point and will hold his point until us old farts can make it to him. As a side point, on a field trial there is no running allowed, however, fast walking is often rewarded with more bird finds. My speed walking form needs a little work though.
Right now, just walking at a steady pace will make me really happy, in a field, I might be kinda slow and steady.:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Getting ready to load up a couple thousand 45ACP, and 9mm. I have 700 230 Gr RN Cast bullets, and 700 200 Gr Cast SWC bullets. I have 1200 124 Gr cast 9mm bullets. That should get me through the summer months.

I had a good weekend, but I should have been in Stark City at 4 Bs hunting pheasant. Even if the weather was too warm...

Had the day off, so I finished up a project that I started last weekend. I added off-road lights to the truck and retrofitted a factory button by adding a custom wiring harness.

Got all my 45ACP rounds reloaded, now to work on the 9mm, 1,000 to go.

cdb
Reloading 9mm today, I hate those tiny cartridges, they are a pain in the backside, but not near as bad as those ity bity 380 hulls.

Well, after a close to 3 month layoff, I went shooting today, 91/100.

Shot this morning and then went home and cleaned poop off the back porch due to my 14 year old Spaniel being the laziest boy on the block.
Went out to the farm today and set up the whirlybird with my brother in law and neighbor and shot about 100 rounds between us all. Then set up a target and shot a my new .380 (S&W EZ) I had bought a year ago and never fired it.
Took inventory in the reloading room, primers, powder, wads, shot, factory bullets, cast bullets, hulls, brass, pure lead, #2 Alloy, Hardball, and 20-1 ingots. I have really got a lot of stuff ❗ ❗ ❗

Guided a group of Pastors and Youth on a wild bird (quail) hunt Saturday.
Went out and snow blowed the driveway, the Cub Cadet 3 stage thrower made quick work of the snow.

Meant to mention on the hunt from last weekend that Fritz was mid retrieve when he locked up on another point. Bird in his mouth, pointed another 6 wild birds. Pretty happy with that!
