I did!! For the first time in a couple years I went trap shooting. After about a 20 year lay-off four clubs are getting together to revive the Hangover Trap League. I shoot for the skeet team at one of them so what the heck. Today was the first shoot and happened to be at my club. There's a total of eight shoots, two at each club, and a shoot-off. $2/week/shooter goes to prizes, so I don't think many ringers are going to spoil the fun. All four of these clubs are just around the north end of Seneca Lake from me. Three are within 10 miles and one I've never been to is maybe 30 miles down some beautiful country roads. I hope spring gets here because the top-down Mustang is ready to roll!

I don't think I ever posted a pic of my home-made custom trap gun. I found this in a little Mom & Pop gun shop when I was killing time at the Waverly NY Auto Auction. Paid $200 NIB never fired. It's the Nat. Wild Turkey Foundation raffle gun from 2007 made by H&R. I put the custom pad on with a spacer for some extra LOP, not a bad do-it-yourself effort, if I must say so! I added some serious weight in the stock, those H&R's kick like mules! Got a hammer extension, an IM choke, and I load really light 7/8 oz. loads.

First station today I missed three birds, then nailed 18/20 the rest of the way. I kinda forgot how to float the birds. Ended up with a 37/50. I'll take it. I had a blast!.........................the Mailman

Hey guys! New guy but I did something. Well I’ve been scrolling on here for a couple of weeks now trying to learn as much as i can but i finally pulled the trigger and have began to redo my 2008 redhead deluxe in 28 gauge. I have got it completely tore down with no issues thanks to a screwdriver recommendation I found on here and ive got about 2 rounds of stripper done so far.
Welcome! Love to see pics of your project!

Thinking about doing the same to my CZ Bobwhite G2

It is warm outside today, and supposed to get up to 65 degrees ❗ But the wind is howling, thinking about going shooting today if the wind dies down. But then shooting clay targets with 40+ MPH winds would really be challenging.

Sometimes, windy "hunt days" are all that we have. Gotta be able to practice those too!

Yep, that is why I am thinking hard about going out to the club and having at it.

Pretty easy with this new forum to upload photos from your desktop. If you can get them from your phone to your laptop. I usually can send them as a text message to my email address. (through a text message)

Shooting at the club was an adventure to say the least, targets dipping 2-3 feet with the wind, some making a right or left turn depending on the wind at the time they were thrown. One target was launched high and right at you, it ended up getting caught by the wind, and went away from you. Needless to say, I did not shoot my average, shot an 82. But it was really fun and challenging.

Are you shooting sporting clays? I’ve done a little skeet shooting but my local club doesn’t have sporting clays so I’m gonna look around and try to find somewhere close and give it a go!

Did you refinish any of your guns? I feel like I saw your name on quite a few threads that I have read through.

cdb I would love to pick your brain about your can you refinished! Do you have any picks? Would love to just private chat but I’m guessing I have Not reached anywhere close to the required number of posts to use that feature Since I can’t find it.
Pickleball this morning. Then I was going to shoot SCs but got a call my MC was ready to pick up so no sporting clays.

My grandnephew expressed an interest in hunting birds behind pointing dogs, so today I treated him to a hunt for chukar and quail at 4-B's this morning behind Rebel and Dan. The weather was cold, misty and a strong wind blowing, but the dog work was good if not flawless and we got all the birds except for one quail. He shot well, and more importantly, safely and really enjoyed the experience. Driving from the field back to the lodge I noticed he had his phone out and when we got out of my truck, he said he'd posted two videos of the hunt on Instagram and was already getting responses. He turns 18 next week and I guess all this phone and computer stuff is just second nature. He said he really wanted to hunt birds again, so I guess I'll have to set up another hunt when I get back from Georgia. It was really great to see a youngster getting excited about bird hunting, maybe he'll carry on the bird hunting tradition to another generation.
