Did anybody do ANYTHING today?

I did!! For the first time in a couple years I went trap shooting. After about a 20 year lay-off four clubs are getting together to revive the Hangover Trap League. I shoot for the skeet team at one of them so what the heck. Today was the first shoot and happened to be at my club. There's a total of eight shoots, two at each club, and a shoot-off. $2/week/shooter goes to prizes, so I don't think many ringers are going to spoil the fun. All four of these clubs are just around the north end of Seneca Lake from me. Three are within 10 miles and one I've never been to is maybe 30 miles down some beautiful country roads. I hope spring gets here because the top-down Mustang is ready to roll!

I don't think I ever posted a pic of my home-made custom trap gun. I found this in a little Mom & Pop gun shop when I was killing time at the Waverly NY Auto Auction. Paid $200 NIB never fired. It's the Nat. Wild Turkey Foundation raffle gun from 2007 made by H&R. I put the custom pad on with a spacer for some extra LOP, not a bad do-it-yourself effort, if I must say so! I added some serious weight in the stock, those H&R's kick like mules! Got a hammer extension, an IM choke, and I load really light 7/8 oz. loads.

First station today I missed three birds, then nailed 18/20 the rest of the way. I kinda forgot how to float the birds. Ended up with a 37/50. I'll take it. I had a blast!.........................the Mailman

Took Lindas 391 out shooting at the club, still losing a lot of targets with the cateract in th middle of my right eye. I did not shoot all that bad, 81/100.

Took my 16 y.o. mancub to put some rounds through his new M&P15.

Also let him put some rounds on paper and steel with the bolt gun.

Put four groups on paper, progressively pulling 'em together...

I took the dogs out to a Joplin Field Trial Association last trial of the season, buddy hunt yesterday and ran Dan with my buddy Jerry's female English pointer and Bode (13 years old) with my buddy Jim's 8 month old GSP. on their first field trial event. Both runs went well, with both my dogs finding 3 of the 5 required birds for a complete run. Jerry is an excellent shooter, but both his birds didn't fly well and we had to call safeties to avoid shooting a dog or the field judge. I managed to cleanly knock down all my birds except for one bird that got a puff of feathers off it, but it continued flying into a brushy fence line a couple of hundred yards away out of bounds. Bode was in hot pursuit and after a couple of minutes came back from out of bounds proudly carrying my quail. Not the first time that old dog has saved the day with a miraculous retrieved, but I got thinking later it could be his last at this advanced age. Jerry and I were the only team to score the maximum points of 110, with the next closest team not breaking 100. A really fun day even considering the previous day's rain had left the field a sea of mud and standing water as you can see in the picture. The picture is the "I love me" picture with Dan at the top of the platform and some 81 year old geezer standing behind him.

Looks like a good pic to me...
Sat behind the wheel of the car for4 1/2 hours driving home. Hopefully the weather in Illinois will get better so I can take some guns and shoot some clay targets at the farm.

Took the A5 Sweetsixteen out to the club today, it was flawless, and I actually did better than I have been doing, I switched to my sunglasses, and the fuzzy spot in my eye was not as bad, still there, but not quite as bad, I did notice if I lost the target with my right eye, the left eye would pick it up, and I actually broke 2 out of 4 that way. Can't wait to get to the eye Dr.

Gave three of my cousins mini-bike rides yesterday. They loved it! :) :) They did well; sat so stiff they seemed a part of the bike. :)
Bella (3) in the first picture, and Aria (just turned 6 in March) in the second. I don't have a picture with Sean (also 3; he and Bella are twins).

Have you calculated how long your stash of components will last if you can't find new stuff? I have 2 pounds of Universal and am agonizing over whether to use it for my 20 ga skeet loads or 16 ga quail loads or how to split it between the two. Just hoping I can make it last until Hodgdon gets off their butts and makes some more.
My stash is measured in years, not pounds:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO: When I get down to 8 pounds of any powder, I go into panic mode. I do my best to stay above 2k pounds of shot. Primers I try to keep 10 years worth. Hulls, I have over 100k, about the only thing I am a slacker on is wads, and I have never had a problem getting them even in the lean years, but I do start restocking when I drop to 1k of any wad.

Beautiful day out today, went shooting at the club, was kinda wet, with all the rain we have been having lately.
