I've run a couple thousand rounds through my 590 without a hitch. Excellent shotguns for the money, and they last forever.

870's are OK, too, but I wouldn't give up my 590 for one.

I just (i'm talking last Wed, Nov 21st) droppped the purchase of an 870P with 2rnd ext/mag and syn stocks for a 590 with pistol grip buttstock, 6 rnd side saddle and even a bayonet.
I don't look back one bit after donig some test firing at the range at 25yds with 3" Federal 00Buck, 2.75" Federal 000Buck Magnums and finished off with a mag of Win. 1oz 2.75" slugs.
What a great handlling piece of kit this is .
I will definately take this out for next falls whitetail hunt :wink:
