I'm new at shotguns; I've been in the pistol world for quite a while, so I'm curious if the topic dry firing is relevant here.

Do you use snap caps for dry firing your shotguns? Or do you simply "improvise", instead, by using spent shells stuffed with something inside like rubber?

Snap caps are the way to go... but if you have an O/U with ejectors, don't get the plastic ones - the ejectors will tear the rims off. For snap caps, Cabela's has full length brass, or half-length brass with a chamber mop. You might also find the same thing locally, or at a gun show.
