PIERRE, S.D. - Duck hunters are advised that most of South Dakota's duck seasons will be closing Dec. 6.

South Dakota's duck seasons for the high plains, low plains north zone and low plains middle zones will all end at sunset on Tuesday, Dec. 6.

Assistant Wildlife Director George Vandel noted that duck hunting opportunity still exists in the low plains south zone, which will be open through Dec. 20. Additionally, the high plains will reopen Dec. 10 until Jan. 1, 2006. Hunters should also be reminded that the season on pintails and canvasbacks is closed statewide.

Details on the duck hunting zones can be found on pages 20-21 of the 2005 SD Hunting and Trapping Handbook, which is available at GFP Offices and online in pdf format at www.sdgfp.info.
