Looking at a Joe Etchen silver pigeon three 12 gauge sporting. Looks like a lot of gun for the money, especially with the upgraded wood
Would any opinion if anyone is shooting one. Thanks.

Very nice gun. Around that price point I’d also look hard at a 694. And Fabarm Elos.

I have one. Like it because it has the Optima HP barrels and the old-style receiver The engraving is upgraded on JE models and you get EELL wood. I found the 694 ugly with the receiver it has. JMHO.

They ARE a lot of gun for the money. I ran a EELL JEG SPII combo for more than 15 years

Put 100K+ rounds through it when I sold it because I went back to flat shooting guns. Looked like new when I sold it. The master Perazzi gunsmith swore by Triflow so that is what I used and highly recommend it.

The wood and the feel on the JE guns are very different than the 694. The JE guns have a beavertail forearm which is rather big compared to the 694. The JE guns in 30 inch barrels are a little light for sporting. I would go 32.

Check out their “Last Shot Sale” If you are going to get one. New guns with a small blemish or wood that they don’t think makes their cut for their signature SP III. It’s sometimes a chance to get a good deal.

I love mine. Look, it is functionally just a 686 SP I. The upgrade is all decorative. But man that is a great gun to start with and making it beautiful seals the deal. I neither want, nor need anything pricier. Good barrel regulation and pattern distribution. Picking your own wood from their stock is a treat. No making do with someone else's choices. I could not be happier. No complaints after about 20,000 rounds down range. And those folks are first-class. The best. Wonderful to deal with. It is my lifetime gun.

No beaver tail anymore. Mine is perfect weight. With adjustable butt plate and Kick-Eze added, it comes to 8.0 lbs. Perfect sporting weight. 30" barrel is my ideal. I don't need to be swinging anything longer than that. Negligible recoil and no burden to carry for 12-14 stations, 225 rounds sometimes.
Edit: My mistake. It is certainly beaver tail. Senior moment.

Mine is the JE SPIII Deluxe Sporting LH. That is the most up to date model. When I purchased, they only had 30 inch barrels. It comes with a case, tool kit, extra trigger, gun socks and stock bolt wrench.

Mine is LH too. It is nice (for us) that they stock so many LH guns. There was plenty of wood selection.
