I just wanted to provide some current input on Fausti Shotguns, in the past I made some comments that may have planted some seeds of doubt in regards to Fausti shotguns and now I feel compelled to provide some more current info that hopefully will have a redeeming affect. I originally purchased an absolutely beautiful (grade 4+ wood) 28 ga. Fausti Albion semi round body O/U from Cabela's and had a couple of very minor problems and Cabela's solution being the terrific customer service oriented company that they are was to simply replace the gun or refund my money and I was not willing to give up this gorgeous little gem and became a little concerned about the lack of factory warranty support state side but in the the end Cabela's had the gun repaired for me and as most of us are aware, with Cabela's importing them they become your source of warranty repair, well that has all changed now as Fausti is now in the US of A and now handles repairs and warranty issues. Well during this time my little 28 ga. O/U became my favorite 28 ga. gun and so when I decided to do a little restructuring of my guns one of the decisions that I made was to get a higher grade 16 ga. SxS built on a 20 ga. frame so I had a Couple of guns to choose from, the Fausti DEA Round Body or the Merkel 1620 and I decided after spending some time with both guns to go with my new 6 lb. 16 ga. Fausti DEA RB SxS and not because they were less expensive but more because they are a true "round action" gun, in fact I was so impressed that I took advantage of Cabela's basically half price sale and bought a 2nd gorgeous 5 3/4 lb. 20 ga. DEA RB as well and am so absolutely impressed that I just had to share this experience with you guys. So if you have thought about getting one of these guns, I couldn't more highly recommend them and Fausti USA is great to work with too. Great Guys!!

That's encouraging news! I've read several reports from others who were disappointed with whatever Fausti model they had. I am well aware that Fausti builds some high end SxS's (Senator EL Gold H&H SLE, Classic EL Gold Hammer-type, etc) which I would expect to be top quality and hoped that earlier reports were an exception. Hopefully, with Fausti, USA handling repairs and warranty issues, those earlier complaints will remain an exception.

Thanks for the info.

Thanks for your response!! I should mention that my DEA RB SxS's are at the top of Fausti's current line up of imported guns and the DEA SL's right below them and the ones that I have seen have all been of excellent quality. Fausti's entry level SxS guns may be just that and a slightly different story but the ones that I have seen so far were nice guns for the money ($1499.00 @ Cabela's) and Fausti's entry level O/U's that I have seen have been very nice guns and if anything a terrific value. I have a most beautiful Albion O/U in 28 ga. that is hands down my favorite 28 ga. which I choose over a Grade V Beretta 687 Silver Pigeon, I liked the weight and wood (GRD. 4 plus wood) of the Fausti far better and I have never regretted the decision.

stratoliner: how do the street prices compare with MSRP?

The guns imported by Fausti USA look awfully nice, and I'd like a PoW O/U in 20...
Hey Barry!! I'm not sure on the street pricing of the newly imported guns but if you go to the Fausti USA website you can take a look at their Dealer listings and maybe find one near you and give them a call. I do know that Cabela's bought a bunch of guns from Fausti a couple of years ago and because of the extremely slow long gun market continues to post them at nearly 50% off in some cases and some incredibly great deals on used guns or "as-new guns", check this 20 ga. out, it is very similar to my 28 ga. Albion and what a steal.

At this point in time Fausti USA is being very honest in stating that the Cabela's reduced price NOS inventory (purchased like three years ago) is absolutely the very best deal going because the newly imported guns are coming in at a much higher price with the Euro/US dollar thing ect. Let me know what you think of the 20 ga listed above. I wish somebody would buy it so I can quit thinking about it. LOL!!

Oh that IS nice. Looks a lot like what I was seeing on the Fausti USA site.

Can you tell me what kind of lockup and hinge the thing has? In 20 it's not such a big deal, but I'm not a huge fan of the Superposed-style everything-under-the-monobloc design. It seems to me that some Faustis have crossbolts, and some are Superposed-style. But I could be way off.

Barry, like the Browning, it has the double under lug and as I remember hinges on trunions just like a Beretta. The Fausti Volo model O/U is the the one with the cross bolt style lock up. I just love my Albion and wouldn't hesitate to buy another. The Albion model is almost identical to the Caledon model currently being imported by Faust USA

This is the actual Albion seen on Fausti's Italian Factory website. The Albion that Cabela's has is the same gun but custom built and finished just for Cabela's, they actually have a gold "C" on the trigger guard to show that they were custom ordered and made just for Cabela's, they are an absolute steal as are the other Cabela's/Fausti models, my DEA RB guns are currently $6000.00 and I bought mine for almost half that at the advice of Fausti USA.
