I havent had a reason to try new powders. Hodgdon Clays works great and burns clean. It would be interesting to see which powder is the most economical though.Going off on a tangent, lately I tried Hodgdon HS7 for some 2 3/4" 1 1/2oz. loads. Doesnt burn quite as clean as Clays, but not bad, like a factory shell. Its a nice heavy load. Heavy enough to cycle my dad's old Browning A-5 3" magnum, and really powders clay targets
