Fetter Ammo?

Shot a round of clays recently and, going with the advice of the club, tried out some new Fetter competition ammo. It's was a 1oz load of 7.5's at 1280 fps. Fetter is apparently the largest ammo maker in Russia, and this is their top-of-the-line shell. Honestly, I was a little leary of an unknown Russian brand. The folks at the club, who I trust, said they had only heard good things from the ammo, and for the price they were hard to beat. I tried them, and as long as I did my part, they broke the targets nicely, even some long-range stuff. The shells were cleaner than most other shells I have tried.

Has anyone else had experience with Fetter ammo? Thoughts/observations?

Why does any American buy stuff from Russia or China??

Help me understand?
Well right now when it comes to ammunition it's VERY clearly "take what you can get"...

Many items manufactured in China aren't easily available or in fact available at all from anywhere but China. Care to guess the percentage if Chinese components in the phone or computer you typed your message from?

My cell phone wasn't made in China. Or Russia. In 1999....myself and several other noted scientists and engineers notified the DOD that production of microchips, processors etc.... were of such a national security interest that outsourcing to China should stop and the US should subsidize the industry and keep it within the bounds of the continental US . And here we are today. Essentially held captive by the frickin Chinese. Because they make them cheaper.

Enjoy your cheap Chinese ammo.

Are the microchips and processors now made in the USA?

I sure hope so.

If you don't think the Chinese are not taking over the world you are so wrong.

I said years ago that all the kids in school should be learning how to speak Chinese.

We used to be the number 1 country in the world. Not any longer. It is really sad.

We are now worried about which kids should be in which bathroom!

It just makes me want to cry.

Strawman. I never asked if your phone was made in China, I asked "Care to guess the percentage if Chinese components in the phone or computer you typed your message from?", which I'd hazard a guess would be a number nearing 100%. It's a bit disingenuous to deride people who use items from countries you don't like while you do the same...

Strawman. Nobody on this thread even mentioned Chinese ammo (which would be pretty pointless since it'd been under embargo since the 90s), the topic was Russian ammo...

Exactly. Damn few chips are made in the US. The VAST majority are made in China because our government (regardless of which group of asshats is in charge) argues over stupid stuff. Like which bathrooms kids can use or what they can or can't study in school. Absolutely idiotic.

What are you paying for the Fetter ammo?

Thanks
It's about $10/box right now at the course (the cheapest they had). Two years ago that would be high, but pretty darn good in these times.

I did buy a flat of Remington (made in 'Murica!) target loads at Bass Pro Shops this week for only $94. They had lots in stock, so maybe we're heading out of this.

In that case your Russian made ammo is no cheaper than what you can but directly off Federals website with free shipping.

The United States imported the largest volume of oil and petroleum products from Russia since 2011 in 2020, according to data from the Energy Information Administration (EIA) of the US Department of Energy. The volume of imports of Russian oil and petroleum products last year amounted to 538,000 barrels per day.Mar 28, 2021

I don't think boycotting a few boxes of Russian ammo will make a difference in the strength of the Russian economy.

I was at a shoot on Saturday at C4 Shooting in Madision Ohio.

The Fetter's were the only shells they had for sale.

1oz. 7.5's $11.54 a box.

I would keep buying Winchester AA's at Walmart too if any of the 4 Walmart's around me had any.

I have 4 Super Walmart's within 20 minutes of my house and the only thing on their shell shelves in the last 4 months is dust.

At all 4 stores the shelves are empty where the shells were. My wife works at Walmart and she said that when the space is still empty they plan on putting the same thing back in that space or they would have put something else in that spot. She said they never leave shelves empty.

I guess that is a good sign.

I know. I wonder who made that happen........???
Patriot this, MAGA that, USA all the Way Every Day...... and we still imported 160+ Billion barrels from a communist gas station parading as a country.

go fishing and make them eat their ammo until it comes down to normal levels. as long as you buy it for that price, they will sell it for that price.
thanks a lot for being part of the problem.
russia is known to not have good QA. id be concerned about corrosion in my gun. their 22's were dirty rounds. shoot at your own risk.

btw...was a time when russia begged us to buy their stuff. now they got us wrapped around their fingers.
not me.

On the other hand, some of the most consistent and sought after centerfire primers came out of Russia, so....

I have a flat of these I'm going to shoot them tomorrow, my buddy has been shooting them now off and on and he likes them.
I had never heard of this stuff until recently on this thread. Was a surprise this morning when my wife gave me a flat of it for fathers day. Nice looking product and I will look forward to sending it down range at some targets soon.

My son helped her find it. She wouldn't tell me what she paid for it and it was certainly too much but given the current situation here where there is virtually nothing, I will accept the gift happily and I will enjoy shooting it when I start to use it up. It is the 1 ounce 1280 which should be very good to run thru my CG.

I like them, they smash birds when I do my part, they hit hard. 1oz loads shipped for a very reasonable price.

To those that are crapping all over us for shooting Russia ammo and supporting their country, look at it this way, we are supporting the USA by shooting it at American owned and run gun clubs.............so put your USA pride in check before you run your mouth about being "part of the problem" if no one shoots Russia ammo, then gun clubs loose out on that portion of business. Many shooters are shooting anything they can get their hands on.

Russia makes some of the best primers as earlier stated.

This goes to show "how screwed-up our Country" is , when Russia and China ammo can be
purchased cheaper than Made in the USA ? This Administration is going backwards from the Last !
Exactly and isn't just amazing how many of those trashing Fetter ammo due to it's country of origin are patronizing Walmart for ammo..A company that is literally built on providing cheap Chinese goods to an unsuspecting public and has done it's damnest best to run every American mom and pop store out of business.
...Be it short sightedness or just plain old hypocrisy, it's pretty startling.

No doubt if American ammo was readily available and at a reasonable cost, everyone would be buying American but times being what they are, buy what you can get.

Sorry your *** got chapped there Bubba. I don't buy Russian or Chinese ammo, and I don't shop at Wal-Mart. I don't buy Chinese knives, Russian primers or anything else from Communist regimes. One is either principled about it or not.

You sound like you don't buy Russian or Chinese ammo either. Until you need it
