I will never buy from Dick's again! Anyone who is going against our 2nd amendment rights, will not get my business! (n)

This thread has pushed the "political" spectrum far enough.

I don't understand censorship of making it known that dicks/ field and stream participate in politics and are lobby for more gun control. They made it part of their business plan to participate in politics. Civil discussion is good for everyone. Some on here may even support more gun control and buy more from dicks, but others may take this information and decide to spend their money elsewhere.

Since their debacle on guns, I have never set foot in one and will never. Sometimes one has to take a stand against the oppressor
Haven't stepped foot in one in over 4 years...& I won't! I don't care what their ammo prices are - I won't be back. Why would anyone patronize them after what they have done? I'm a dyed-in-the-wool red-blooded AMERICAN!!!
(For those of you who support their cause...I feel sorry for you that you can be bought so cheaply! I love my country) JMO

Its not censorship, its just not being discussed were it belongs. SGW has 3 forums where it would be allowed
No different then constantly chatting about Sporting Clays in this forum.
That and some members don't want to be constantly bombarded with others political opinions, not that they dont think the opinion is wrong, they just dont want to read it in every forum.

I used to buy most of my ammo from Dicks. It was priced right, convenient, and no sales tax. Sometimes I had coupons and other promotions that made the deals even sweeter.

I often discovered the sales and promotion from posts this website.
Note "used to" as BEFORE Dicks 2nd amendment activities were known.

It's a cute concept, but nearly impossible. You must run around naked most of the time if you truly aren't giving any money to any anti-gun companies.
Good point, but I consider hiring anti-gun lobbyists to be on an entirely different level than donating to anti-gun groups. If I could help it I wouldn’t do business with any company that supports anti-gunners.

i also have a problem with companies that sell products out of greed that they are trying to get banned, or sell products focused on outdoorsmen and run ads directed at hunters and shooters while at the same time are trying to adversely effect that same group of people.

Well, I'm glad this topic is in the open, and not buried in some remote closet where no one can't read it. At one time I shopped there a lot, but I haven't stepped foot in a Dicks since they went woke and commy and I never will again. It's the same thing for Starbucks, I won't even look at a Starbucks sign since that despicable, Un-American letter they wrote about never supporting our US military.

This is the last thing I say on this subject. Mike

I thought all Dicks stores quit selling guns / ammo etc. over 5 years ago. Surprised any still have ammo. Haven't been in one in quite a while.
Time to let it go.
It is probably a desperate act to save the company from going under, trying to get a few customers back. Their only competition is Dunham's. This is what happens when you are forced to hire the wrong employees. But the internet has taken over ammo and firearm sales rendering most bricks & mortar stores obsolete, save Cabela's and Bass-Pro Shop.

Many years ago when I still lived in Dallas a local Dick's made some comment about guns and gun violence. This was back in the late 80s early 90s and there had been a sharp rise in gang violence. I was still in my surgical residency and saw it every 3erd night. I don't remember what was said and what action they were going to undertake to 'fix' the issue but it really rubbed me the wrong way. I Have not had any dealings with them since. I guess it was anti 2A or some local executive just said some b.s. regarding gun violence.

Yeah, when people say they won't go into a Dick's ever again it just means that Dick's isn't selling anything that interests them. I don't go into smoke shops for the same reason.

If tomorrow Dick's was selling Beretta 300s for 400 bucks, as well as ammo at $5.40 there would be a long line at the door an hour before opening, and I'd be in it with a fat wallet.

I've got a $100 gift certificate for Dick's; I'll have to find something there I want.
That's a bit of a quandary. You probably don't want to support them, but they already have their money. If you don't use the gift certificate you just gave them a free $100. They're much better off if you don't use it.

Winter clothes sales are probably coming up. There is probably something you can use. I bought Duofold long johns on a end-of-winter sale. Good deal.

If you golf, get golf balls. Play tennis, get tennis balls. Don't let them keep your $100 and give you nothing.

I long ago stopped shopping at Dick's for they long ago stopped selling anything hunting/shooting sports related (in my area). Dick's opened an F&S store nearby at the same time they began phasing out of hunting/shooting from their main stores and within a year, that F&S store closed. Even my wife and daughter stopped shopping Dick's for their yoga pants!!

In TN they have a Dicks on Peters Rd. I thought that one was...interesting.

So I'm guessing no one on this forum buys from Walmart? Because they don't sell black rifles or pistol ammunition anymore.
I've been in Dicks a couple times in the last few years looking for some stuff, and I don't know how they stay in business. It's always empty and their products are waaay overpriced.
My Walmart has "pistol ammo" whatever that is...
