Franchi bolt handle is loose?

I just handled a Franchi 912 3.5" camo. The gun felt nice and shouldered well, but the bolt handled was not fixed in place. The handle would swivel about 45 degrees in either direction. The salesman said that it was designed that way so that you could have full contact with the handle when you grabbed it from any angle. Is this correct or is there something wrong with the bolt handle on this particular gun?

Salesman will say anything! It's normal for this gun to do it. There is nothing wrong with it and you won't notice while using the gun
I don't think it's designed to swivel. It's mearly a coincidence of the design. Franchi literature does not point this out as a feature anywhere. I don't see any benfit with my 612 which has the handle rotate a bit as well. You pull back on the handle so hard and fast that you would not know it was rotating. Having a round peg that does not move would work just as well.
Larger size bolt handles are good for tactical purposes as they are easier to grab in low light or stressful situations.
OK Joe it's your story, tell it how you want. It's a useful design feature if you want it to be. It's not for me and mearly a coincidence of design that has no real benifit to me. A round peg the same size that does not rotate would work just as well for me. I don't notice any difference between any of my or my buddies other semi autos that don't rotate. None of them have ever commented on the nice rotating bolt handle as well. This especially true while waterfowling where gloves are normally worn.
