I have a Summit 12 ga and would like to replace the front sight with a HiViz CompSight, PM1002. The screws that came with the HiViz kit do not fit the front sight tap. Does anyone have an suggestions as to what size screw to use? The factory indicated to use a 3mm screw, but couldn't specify what the thread pattern was. Any suggestions on how to mount this sight would be appreciated. If someone has used another sight please indicate which one it is and how you like it.

Thanks.

If it is metric it can be 1 of 3 thread types, these are;

1) 3mm x 0.5 Coarse metric thread written as 3M.

2) 3mm x 0.35 Fine metric thread written as 3M x 0.35

3) 3mm x 0.6 Unlikely as this is an obsolete Japanese, French thread.

The thread angle is always 60 degrees and the thread depth is always 0.614 x pitch (eg 0.614 x 0.5 = 0.307mm).

The second number (ie 0.5, 0.35, 0.6) above indicates the pitch of the thread.

See here and here.

Hope this helps.
