In my Fabrique Nationale A5, Made in Belgium, Sr no 4579xx, a gap has developed between the Stock & action/receiver. What should I do, as I hold the stock in one hand the action in the other & apply pressure in opposite direction there is play & movement. It appears the wood is damaged internally.

There is also a horizontal cross bolt/screw in the pistol grip area of the stock closer to the action end. Is this screw there in the Browning A-5, I dont see this screw in the Parts list/diagram in the Guns Part Corporation Catalogue #24A, pg 71. This part list is for post wwII models.

Lynx,
What I would recommend is that you purchase a glass bedding kit, and repair the area, If you are unaware the process please take to your local smith, it is a simple repair that will add years of life to your exsisting stock.
