My mom gave this shotgun to me, she said it use to belong to her grandfather and I'm just trying to find out about it. It is a single shot, It has 44 Caliber stamped on top of the barrel. On the side I can make out Harrington and Richardson Arms Co, Worchester, Mass. Pat Pen 23 or 29 & 271000. The Serial number both on the barrel and behind the trigger guard is 5112. Right above the pivot point on the barrel I can make out FEB 23 & 27, AT MAY1+ 1921.. Anything would be of a great help, Thanks

I think you'll find it fires a 44XL shotshell ,and I'm pretty sure a 2 1/2in .410 will chamber but if it's not marked 44/.410 or similar don't try shooting it.

It'll make a nice wallhanger and conversation piece, not particularly valuable($50 - $100) but heirlooms are semi-priceless.
