Does the Vebt Rib barrel have an advantage over the Heat Shield besides faster heat dissapation? Can i ruin the barrel while using a plain barrel due to overheating?

The purpose of the heat shield is to keep you from burning your hands on a hot barrel. It might, and I stress MIGHT, be possible to ruin a barrel by shooting it too much and overheating it but golly gee wiz you would have to shoot a whole hell of a lot in rapid succession to accomplish that.
